PGCC Prayer Tree

Keep it Simple by Scott Oas

A.W. Tozer said this about prayer, "The key to prayer is simply praying."

The basic element of prayer is participation. When the disciples asked for help, Jesus guided them to prayer, keeping the prayer simple, focused and real.

As we look ahead at the coming season in the life of PGCC, it is full of possibilities and opportunities and we need God's guidance. My heart is that we will demonstrate a deepening faith by our commitment to prayer as we consider these exiciting opportunities.  Our challenge is to believe that God's power will be released in us as we seek and ask of Him, "Lord, whatever it takes, give us grace to follow you."

I am confident that when we think of our church, our desire is to be a group that is committed to experiencing God's design and power. We want God with us, for us, and directing us. E.M. Bounds reminds us that our highest office is centered on our allegiance to prayer.

The life of the church is the highest life, and its office is to pray. Its prayer life is the highest life, the most fragrant, the most conspicuous.
When God's house on the earth is a house of prayer, then God's house in heaven is busy and powerful in its plans and movements.
"For mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all people" (Isaiah 56:7), says our God. Then, His earthly armies are clothed with the triumphsand spoils of victory, and His enemies are defeated on every hand. . . The very life and prosperity of God's cause - even its very existence - depend on prayer. And the advance and triumph of His cause depend on one thing: that we ask of Him. E.M. Bounds

The power of God is released when the Church prays. When we pray in concert with one another and are seeking God we are strengthened, unified, and experience joy.

Let's be a church that is known as a house of prayer. Imagine when God releases His plan, purpose and power among us how exciting it will be. And you know what, God is doing that at PGCC! Let's keep praying, keeping it simple, focused and real.

My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek. Psalm 27:8
